Preventing domestic and sexual violence isn’t the responsibility of any one sector. It requires businesses, media, nonprofits, governments, and communities working together to build lasting change.

This month, we witnessed what is possible when unlikely partners come together around a shared goal. From global leaders convening at the United Nations to new conversations in the sports and victim advocacy sectors, we’re continuing to build the cross-sector movement needed to end gender-based violence once and for all. Here’s a closer look at what we’ve been up to:

Save the Date: The Global Business Summit Takes Place on November 3!

Earlier this month, we were proud to announce the Global Business Summit: Taking Action on Domestic Abuse, a day-long virtual event presented in partnership with the Employers’ Alliance on Domestic Abuse. 

On November 3, the Summit will bring together business leaders, HR and CSR professionals, advocates, and workplace policy experts to explore the critical role of the private sector in recognizing, responding to, and preventing domestic violence.

Changing the Game

Our work to make gender-based violence a defining social cause of the 2027 Women’s World Cup continued in full force this month, with a series of events spotlighting the role sport can play in advancing social change.

On July 17, we were joined by global leaders at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to launch a shared initiative to use the platform of the Women's World Cup to help prevent gender-based violence around the world. Powered by a coalition including the United Nations Youth Office, UNESCO, OABRJ, the FIFA Master Alumni Association, UN Women, and NO MORE, the initiative is building a global platform of resources to strengthen prevention efforts and empower communities, with impact designed to last long after the final whistle. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us that evening for a special reception to mark the passing of the torch from the 2026 World Cup in New York to the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. 

Our CEO Pamela Zaballa also spoke on the panel "The Global Impact of Women's Soccer as a Tool for Social Transformation" at Confut USA, where she reflected on how sport can inspire cultural change and serve as a powerful platform to prevent gender-based violence. We're proud to continue our partnership with Confut to ensure conversations about safety, respect, and healthy relationships remain part of the future of sport.

Building Stronger Partnerships: NOVA 2026

This month, our CEO also led a workshop at the National Organization for Victim Advocacy Conference, focused on one of the biggest opportunities for nonprofit organizations: building meaningful cross-sector partnerships. By sharing insights from NO MORE’s own collaborative work, the session explored practical strategies for engaging businesses, government agencies, and other community partners to strengthen their impact and drive lasting change.

A New NO MORE Podcast: Language of Love

This month, we released the first two episodes of Language of Love, the new NO MORE Podcast series exploring the dynamics of coercive control. 

Now streaming on NO MORE LatAm’s YouTube and Spotify channels, the series examines the subtle, often unrecognized patterns of control that can emerge in abusive relationships long before physical violence occurs. Episodes are released in Spanish, with subtitles available, bringing these important conversations to global audiences.

Run for Team NO MORE: London Marathon Spaces Now Open!
