June Newsletter: Changing the Game

June Newsletter: Changing the Game

At NO MORE, we’re committed to collaboration, innovation, and meaningful action to prevent abuse. This June, that commitment took us around the world including:

  •  Virtual stages in more than 130 countries at the Global Summit on Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence
  • Rio de Janeiro, where we celebrated one year until the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and the connected initiative to help prevent violence against women and girls
  • The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

It also guided our content through two important awareness-raising periods, Pride Month and PTSD Awareness Month, which underscore the importance of visibility—both in terms of who is affected by abuse, as well as how the effects can go far deeper than surface level.

Throughout it all, we remain grateful to every organization and advocate around the world committed to amplifying these conversations, so more people feel empowered to recognize and take action to end abuse. Here’s a look at what we got up to this month:

Recapping the Global Summit on Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence

Earlier this month, we delivered our third annual Global Summit on Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence in partnership with UN Women, which brought together experts from 48 organizations and participants from over 130 countries worldwide. Throughout the day, conversations explored some of the most pressing issues bridging technology and abuse, as well as the tools and innovations improving safety both on and offline.

If you weren’t able to tune in live, every session is now on our YouTube channel.

Kicking Off the Countdown: One Year to the Women’s World Cup

This month also marked one year to kickoff for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. To celebrate the moment, Rio’s Christ the Redeemer monument was lit up in NO MORE teal, turning one of the world’s most iconic landmarks into a symbol of commitment to ending gender-based violence.

We’re proud to stand as the nonprofit partner for Brazil’s bold initiative to use the tournament as a platform for preventing violence against women and girls. Over the next year, we’re excited to be working alongside global partners to turn the world’s biggest stage for women’s sport into a lasting platform for safety.

As part of this initiative, NO MORE’s CEO Pamela Zaballa is bringing our mission to global stages, including the "Women's Football in Brazil: A Tool for Social Transformation" panel at Confut USA. With more events on the horizon, stay tuned for updates on how you can stay involved with these conversations.

A New Podcast: Language of Love

We’re excited to launch the NO MORE Podcast, a new home for voices driving change around the world. Our first series, Language of Love, explores the topic of coercive control in a three-part candid conversation. The first episode premieres July 6, exclusively in Spanish, on NO MORE LatAm’s YouTube and Spotify channels.
