April Newsletter: Standing Together in a Critical Moment

April Newsletter: Standing Together in a Critical Moment

April marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a time to reflect, raise awareness, and recommit to sustained action. This year, it comes amid a series of deeply troubling news stories: a CNN investigation exposing online “rape academy” networks, a new report revealing a surge in AI-generated child sexual abuse material, and tragic shootings in Virginia and Louisiana— escalations of domestic violence with deadly consequences.

These stories, as well as countless others that never make headlines, underscore the urgency of our mission and make us all the more grateful to the many partners, advocates, and supporters standing alongside us to help end domestic and sexual violence. Below is a summary of some of our most recent efforts.

Driving Awareness During Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Throughout April, NO MORE has continued its work to raise awareness and share educational resources that help communities recognize, prevent, and respond to sexual assault and harassment.

We were proud to join the Denim Runs, the first national race series dedicated to raising awareness around sexual assault, organized by the Summer Willis Foundation. As a charity partner, we were inspired by the energy and commitment of everyone who showed up, ran, and stood in solidarity.

Thank you to all who participated and helped bring visibility to this critical issue.

Looking Ahead to the Online Global Summit on Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence

On June 9th, we’re excited to present the third annual Global Summit on Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence in partnership with UN Women. This global virtual event will convene leaders across the nonprofit, tech, and policy sectors, alongside survivors and advocates, to explore forward-thinking solutions to one of the fastest-evolving challenges in our field.

As technology reshapes the landscape of abuse, collaboration and innovation have never been more essential. We hope you’ll join us for these vital conversations. It’s free to attend. Join us the whole day or choose the sessions of most interest to you.

Harnessing the Power of Sport for Change

This week, our Global CEO Pamela Zaballa spoke at the Concordia Horizons Summit in Dallas in a discussion on the critical role that sports can play to drive change.

NO MORE has a long history of working with professional sports leagues, teams, and athletes to help raise awareness of domestic and sexual abuse and promote healthy relationships. As announced last month, we’re proud to partner with Brazil on the commitment to use the FIFA 2027 Women's World Cup™as a platform to help prevent violence against women and girls, working alongside of Visit Embratur, Empresa Brasil de Comunicação, and the Cristo Sustentável Consortium. With a huge global audience comes a huge opportunity to reach millions with information, tools, and resources to increase awareness, inspire action, and fuel much-needed culture change.

Stay tuned for more news on how this work evolves!
