September Newsletter: Stronger Communities, Safer Futures
This September, as we mark Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, we reflect on the importance of creating safe, supportive environments where no one feels alone—and celebrating the strength and leadership of all those driving change. Building a culture of care, connection, and prevention is at the heart of our work, and this month, we’ve been driving action globally to end violence, support survivors, and build safer futures for all.
Building Safer Campuses
This fall, as students around the world returned to their campuses and we entered the “red zone,” the period each year when campus sexual assaults are at their highest, we were proud to launch our latest resource: “Building Safer Campuses.” This comprehensive guide is designed for students, faculty, and campus leaders committed to preventing sexual and dating abuse, supporting survivors, and transforming campus culture.

Inside the guide, you’ll find:
- Practical steps to raise awareness and start conversations on campus
- Strategies for organizing peer-led initiatives and community events
- Tools to support survivors with empathy, respect, and resources
- Action plans for building accountability and challenging harmful norms
If you haven’t already, take a look now and please share it with students, educators, administrators and parents/caregivers in your life.
Spotlighting GBV Prevention During the United Nations General Assembly
Evidence shows that unless we eliminate violence against women and girls, we cannot achieve at least 14 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, including those addressing poverty, health, and peace. That’s why this month, we were proud to join leaders, innovators, and changemakers at special events around the United Nations General Assembly in New York, united in the mission to end gender-based violence globally.
While in New York, we attended Free Future, an amazing conference hosted by the Ford Foundation, Pivotal Ventures, UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women, and The Meteor. We also partnered with our friends at the Centre for Public Impact for a powerful day of conversation and collaboration. Through panels, interviews, and fireside chats, we captured the voices of inspiring activists and experts working to end gender-based violence. These conversations will be featured in our upcoming Global Broadcast for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25th.
We’re excited to share more details about how we can all get involved to make a difference this year… Stay tuned!
Looking Ahead to The Global Summit on Economic Abuse
Mark your calendars for November 18th, when advocates, experts, and survivors will gather for the inaugural Global Summit on Economic Abuse, a free, virtual event delivered in partnership with the International Coalition Against Economic Abuse. This landmark event will explore solutions, spotlight survivor voices, and inspire global action against economic abuse, a form of control that is present in 99% of domestic abuse cases.

We are thrilled to welcome our newest NO MORE Ambassador: Shiori Ito, Oscar and BAFTA-nominated filmmaker, journalist, writer, and co-founder of Hinashi Films. Her groundbreaking work shines a light on gender-based human rights abuses, and we couldn’t be more proud to be working alongside her.
