October Newsletter: Driving Change in DVAM and Beyond
October was a busy and inspiring Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)—a time when our global community comes together to raise awareness, spark conversations, and advocate for lasting change. We participated in ID Discovery’s (ID) No Excuse for Abuse campaign reaching millions; launched the Corporate Network Against Domestic & Sexual Violence; and started the EVAW Day Relief Fund tied to our special livestream coming on November 25th, which will be a benefit for nonprofits hardest hit by recent funding cuts.
We’re proud to share more on these DVAM highlights and preview some exciting events coming next month. And, of course, don’t forget to save the date for NO MORE Week 2026, coming March 2–8!
No Excuse for Abuse: Increasing Awareness
During DVAM, we proudly partnered with ID Discovery for the fourth annual No Excuse for Abuse Campaign, raising awareness about domestic violence and equipping survivors and their loved ones with practical tools and resources to find safety and support. As part of the effort, our co-founder and Board Chair Jane Randel participated in a special conversation with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) employees about psychological and emotional abuse, how to recognize the signs, and how to help colleagues and friends who might be experiencing it. Last week, ID also premiered a powerful documentary – "Hunted by My Husband: The Untold Story of the DC Sniper" – the story of our brave friend Mildred Muhammad.

Safer Workplaces, Safer Communities: A New Corporate Network
Last week, we were proud to launch of the Corporate Network Against Domestic & Sexual Violence, a private sector alliance committed to building and maintaining safe, supportive workplaces and communities. The Network provides a forum and platform for leading companies to get access to the latest policies, guidelines and research; share best practices, challenges, and resources; and take part in collective actions to increase awareness, support survivors, and help prevent all forms of abuse.
We’re incredibly grateful to founding Corporate Network members Match Group, the NFL, Uber, and Vodafone Americas Foundation that are kick-starting this critical initiative. As NO MORE CEO Pamela Zaballa said in making the announcement: “To truly stop and prevent the domestic and sexual abuse that impacts 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men worldwide, we need all sectors – government, NGOs and corporations in every industry – to come together. Through the Corporate Network, we’re mobilizing more companies to be part of the solution for their employees and consumers, and use their platforms and products to help raise awareness and drive systemic change.”

Coming Up on November 18th: The Global Summit on Economic Abuse
We’ve also been gearing up for the Global Summit on Economic Abuse, a virtual global event taking place on November 18th. Register for free today to join us in learning more about the economic abuse that occurs in 99% of domestic abuse cases and how to prevent it.

We’re proud to partner with the International Coalition Against Economic Abuse to bring you this important day-long event spotlighting powerful survivor voices, pioneering research, and cross-sector solutions to ensure financial safety remains a priority in the movement to end abuse. Special thanks to our sponsors – the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Lloyds Banking Group, and Norton Rose Fulbright – for their support.
Tackling Gender-Based Violence on EVAW Day, November 25th
On November 25th, in partnership with the Centre for Public Impact, we’ll mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (EVAW) with our second annual global livestream. With one in three women worldwide experiencing gender-based violence in their lifetime, this day underscores the urgent need for awareness, action, and support.

This year’s EVAW Day commemoration comes at a critical time. As economic stresses, online abuse, and conflict have made more women vulnerable to violence, many survivor services have been pushed to the brink due to reduced funding and increased uncertainty. To help bridge these gaps, we launched the EVAW Day Relief Fund to provide emergency assistance to charities impacted by recent funding challenges.

We’ll be asking for contributions throughout the EVAW Day livestream on the 25th, but you can help us jumpstart the Relief Fund now. Any donation, even $5, can help ensure access to support for abuse victims when it’s needed most.
Save the Date: NO MORE Week 2026
Mark your calendars! NO MORE Week—the annual time for survivors, advocates, allies, and communities to come together and take action to end domestic and sexual violence—is coming March 2–8th, 2026! We’ll be sharing exciting ways you can get involved soon.
