June Newsletter – Advocating, Elevating, and Amplifying Voices
At NO MORE, we are committed to sustained advocacy, education, and meaningful action to drive change. This past month, that commitment took NO MORE to Cannes for the International Festival of Creativity; to Ontario, Canada where our newest chapter was launched; to the U.S. where we are closely monitoring a lawsuit brought by 17 state domestic and sexual assault coalitions to challenge restrictions on federal grants that support survivors; and online globally where we used our platforms to increase awareness of the unique challenges that marginalized communities face and of the long-term impacts that violence can have on survivors.
Your support makes this work possible and connects survivors to lifesaving services through the NO MORE Global Directory. At this critical time, we would greatly appreciate any size gift that you can make. It’s simple to donate here:
Here’s a closer look at some of what we’ve been working on in June.
Focusing on Creativity to Fuel Culture Change
We were honored to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Our “Language of Love” campaign, created by our partners at Mullen Lowe UK, was in contention to be shortlisted in two categories. As a reminder, the initiative was launched last Valentine’s Day to showcase how verbal and emotional abuse can sometimes be subtle but still incredibly hurtful and dangerous. Through billboards throughout London, a social media effort, and a short film, we raised awareness of the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships.

It was energizing to be in Cannes and see so many powerful ways that impactful storytelling and creative language can break down stigma, foster empathy, and inspire action. We’ll continue to work to deliver bold, creative campaigns that drive the movement forward.
Standing with Vulnerable Communities
June is a month rich with important awareness periods which underscore the complex realities of abuse, especially for vulnerable communities, and illustrate the importance of our movement. This month, we proudly supported and amplified content related to:
- Pride Month, honoring LGBTQ+ communities that often face heightened risks of domestic and sexual violence, and working to ensure inclusive, affirming support for all survivors
- PTSD Awareness Month, recognizing the long-term mental health impacts of trauma and advocating for better understanding and resources for survivors
- Juneteenth, a time to celebrate freedom while acknowledging the ongoing systemic injustices that disproportionately impact Black survivors of violence
- The International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, spotlighting the devastating impacts of sexual violence in war and the urgent need for global solidarity.
Welcoming Our Newest Chapter: Ontario Says NO MORE
We’re proud to welcome Ontario Says NO MORE to our growing global community working to end domestic and sexual violence.
Led by SOAR Initiative Canada, whose mission is to empower survivors of abuse and drive systemic change to eliminate barriers to support, Ontario Says NO MORE is already taking bold action. They recently released an open letter calling on the NHL and NHLPA to adopt a formal, league-wide policy addressing sexual violence, domestic violence, and child abuse. Learn more and support their work today!
Championing Women in Leadership at The Brilliance Summit
We were also proud to be the charity partner at last week’s Brilliance Summit in London, a powerful gathering celebrating women in leadership across industries. It was meaningful to hear from inspiring speakers and to bring the voices of survivors and advocates into this influential space.

This Summit was a real reminder of the crucial role of leadership in creating safer communities. We’re already looking forward to next year!
