August Newsletter – A Season of Awareness and Impact

As summer winds down, we’re looking ahead to a season full of opportunities for awareness, connection, and action. From impactful partnerships to global events, we’re proud to share what we’ve been working on, what’s coming up, and how you can get involved.

Starting Conversations with The Girlfriends: Jailhouse Lawyer

We’re thrilled to be partnering with the critically acclaimed podcast The Girlfriends for its third season. Each week, this season has been shining a vital light on themes of domestic violence, the justice system, and survivor resilience, spotlighting experiences that are all too common, but still underrepresented in the media.

To support listeners as they engage with these important topics, we’ve created a Listener’s Guide and Conversation Companion, designed to provide context on abuse and justice, and foster deeper conversations about how we can all stand against violence.

Back to School: Preventing Abuse on College Campuses

As students head back to campus, it’s a critical time to raise awareness about the Red Zone—the period between August and Thanksgiving when college students, especially freshmen, are at heightened risk of sexual assault and dating violence.

We’re committed to equipping communities with tools to create safer environments. That’s why we’re excited to share our upcoming resource: “Building Safer Campuses: A Guide to Sexual and Dating Abuse Prevention.”

Launching soon, the guide will provide practical strategies and tools to help students and campus communities recognize and respond to signs of abuse, promote prevention, and foster cultures of respect and accountability.

Together, we can make college a place where every student feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. Tell the parents, students, and faculty in your life to sign up for our updates so they can be first to get access to this important guide.

Looking Ahead to the Global Summit on Economic Abuse

Did you know that research shows that financial abuse occurs in 99% of domestic violence cases? To help combat it, NO MORE is proud to partner with the International Coalition Against Economic Abuse to co-host the inaugural Global Summit on Economic Abuse, a unique virtual event being held on November 18th and featuring the voices of changemakers from around the world. This will be a powerful day of action and insight, with sessions exploring how systems can better support victim/survivors, effective prevention strategies to stop financial abuse, and mobilize action from institutions, governments, and communities.
