5 Ways Your 5K Can Make a Difference This NO MORE Week

5 Ways Your 5K Can Make a Difference This NO MORE Week

NO MORE Week is coming up, March 2-8, and this year, every step you take can help end domestic and sexual violence. By taking on the NO MORE Week Challenge and completing a virtual 5K (or more!), you can join a global moment dedicated to ending abuse.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a weekend walker, or someone lacing up for the first time, your 5K can make a powerful difference. Here’s how:

1) Showing survivors they’re not alone.

For many survivors, abuse is isolating. Taking part in the NO MORE Week Challenge is a visible way to show survivors that they’re seen, believed, and supported.

When you share your Challenge online or in your community, you help send a clear message: there is a global network of people standing together against domestic and sexual violence, and no one has to face it alone.

2) Raising awareness about abuse.

Your participation in the Challenge can be a conversation starter. Wearing the NO MORE symbol, posting your finish-line selfie, or talking about why you’re taking part can help shine a light on the epidemic of abuse.

By raising awareness, you can help create a culture where more people recognize early signs of abuse and know how to access support.

3) Helping connect more survivors to support.

Too often, survivors don’t know where to find safe support. Funds raised through the NO MORE Week Challenge will help connect more survivors to helplines, shelter, advocacy, and other lifesaving services listed through the NO MORE Global Directory.

When you take on your Challenge, whether through fundraising or sharing resources, you’ll help more survivors see that support is available.

4) Powering prevention and education.

Ending domestic and sexual violence can’t only involve responding after harm happens; it must also include efforts to prevent it from happening in the first place. Your participation in the NO MORE Week Challenge will help fuel prevention campaigns and resources promoting healthy relationships, consent, equality, and respect in schools, workplaces, online spaces, and communities everywhere.

5) Driving global change.

The NO MORE Week Challenge is part of worldwide effort to end domestic and sexual violence, with individuals, organizations, and communities joining forces to raise awareness and take action from March 2nd-8th.

By joining this global moment, fundraising, and sharing resources and information, you help sustain and advance the movement to end domestic and sexual violence.
