November Newsletter: Celebrating the Power of Partnership

November Newsletter: Celebrating the Power of Partnership

November was a busy, impactful month for the NO MORE community, and we’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished together. From uniting advocates in global conversation to delivering far-reaching digital campaigns, our work this month has reaffirmed a core truth: efforts to end domestic and sexual violence are strengthened by collaboration. This month, we’ve been heartened by the many individuals, leaders, organizations, and institutions that have joined us in taking action.

As many vital services face unprecedented funding challenges this year, collective action is more important than ever. That’s why, as we close out the month and near Giving Tuesday, we invite you to stand with survivors and the frontline organizations that serve them by supporting the EVAW Day Relief Fund, in benefit of at-risk survivor services. Your $10 donation will help keep crisis support, emergency shelter, and victim advocacy services open and operational, ensuring survivors are not left without help when they need it most.

Leadership in Action: The Global Summit on Economic Abuse

This month saw the successful launch of the first-ever Global Summit on Economic Abuse, presented in partnership with the International Coalition Against Economic Abuse. The Summit united viewers from around the world for a powerful day of dialogue, bringing together leaders from the finance, banking, insurance, and policymaking sectors to spotlight innovative solutions to economic abuse, a form of coercive control that is still widely unrecognized, despite being present in nearly every domestic violence case.

Our London team was proud to celebrate the Summit through two special events: a panel viewing and live Q&A as the Summit premiered worldwide, and a reception hosted by our sponsors at Norton Rose Fulbright. These gatherings brought together leaders from the nonprofit and private sectors to strengthen efforts to end financial and economic abuse.

Uniting Global Voices on EVAW Day

On November 24th, we hosted a live event at Soho House in London ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (EVAW Day) and the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The program welcomed changemakers including Jess Asato (Member of UK Parliament) and Dame Nicole Jacobs (Domestic Abuse Commissioner for England and Wales); leaders from trailblazing organizations including Everyone’s Invited, Stonewall, and Women for Women International; representatives from companies including Instagram and Match Group; and keynote speeches from Mandy Thomas (Author and Advocate) and the Rt Hon Baroness Patricia Scotland KC (Former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth).

This powerful live program was filmed for inclusion in the EVAW Day Global Livestream on November 25th, presented in partnership with the Centre for Public Impact. The livestream also included additional panels from a sister event held in New York during the UN General Assembly and messages of solidarity from advocates from around the world. If you missed it, the full livestream is now available on our YouTube Channel.

Celebrating the Launch of the Safe Spaces Initiative

Earlier this month, we joined our partners at AXA at the Women’s Forum in Paris for the launch of their new Safe Spaces initiative, which equips employers and employees with tools to recognize abuse and respond with empathy and effectiveness. Cross-sector collaboration sits at the heart of our work, and we are proud to partner with organizations like AXA that are taking meaningful action to create safer workplaces and communities.

Promoting Prevention and Early Intervention Through Digital Campaigns

In November, we were proud to deliver two impactful campaigns to advance prevention and early interventions against abuse. Our annual Lovestrong campaign with Avon challenged harmful gender norms and promoted healthy, equitable relationships, while our digital collaboration with content creator and education expert Dr. Esme Louise James highlighted early relationship red flags and directed audiences to the Bright Sky app for trusted, confidential support.
