July Newsletter - Amplifying Voices, Driving Solutions
This July, we have worked to elevate the voices of survivors, spotlight too-often-overlooked forms of abuse, and encourage urgent action. From publishing new research on the growing crisis facing domestic and sexual violence services; to announcing a global summit focused on economic abuse; to honoring the strength and resilience of survivors with disabilities during Disability Pride Month; our efforts this month underscore our ongoing commitment to supporting survivors while advocating for true culture change to stop violence before it starts.
Here are some of the highlights:
Releasing a New Report on the Impacts of Funding Threats on Our Sector
This week, we released a new report, “A Fragile Lifeline: How Funding Threats Are Endangering Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention & Response,” which shares the findings from our global survey of U.S. and international nonprofits conducted earlier this year.

The findings demand urgent attention: nearly all organizations relying on public funding fear major disruptions, and many have already been forced to scale back vital services. Meanwhile, survivors—especially those from marginalized communities—are facing heightened risk, as service providers experience increased burnout and job insecurity.
Launching The Global Summit on Economic Abuse: Registration Now Open
We’re thrilled to be hosting the Global Summit on Economic Abuse, a free, virtual event taking place on November 18th, in partnership with the International Coalition Against Economic Abuse.
Economic abuse is one of the most pervasive, yet often overlooked, forms of domestic abuse. The Summit will bring together leading voices from around the world to raise awareness of the realities of economic abuse, share innovative solutions, and champion survivor-led advocacy.

We hope you’ll join us for a powerful day of insights and action.
Partnering with The Girlfriends: Jailhouse Lawyer
We’ve teamed up with the producers of the third season of “The Girlfriends: Jailhouse Lawyer” podcast, which follows the real story of a survivor who, after experiencing abuse and incarceration, trained in law to fight for justice for herself and other incarcerated survivors.

Listen to “The Girlfriends: Jailhouse Lawyer” wherever you get your podcasts. And check out content we’re sharing every week to delve deeper into the themes of each episode, including the intersections of abuse and incarceration, and the resilience of survivors navigating broken systems.
